Infrared Dryer & Powder Spray

ABDick's combined system gives you the quick turnaround of infrared with the proven performance of powder. Separate controls give you a choice. Use the infrared and powder spray systems together or separately to virtually eliminate offset. The infrared dryer and powder spray units can also be sold and used individually.

Powder Spray

The Powder Spray attachment separates printed sheets and keeps them from offsetting. Via a control panel, you can adjust powder spray distribution from a full sheet to a small fraction. Once spray length is set, the system senses changes in speed and automatically adjusts to maintain original powder coverage. You can also adjust powder concentration from a fine mist to a heavy spray.

To assist monitoring and adjustment of spray length, an indicator lights when the system is spraying powder. Our unique powder spray bar prevents clogging and maximizes powder charge.

The air knife feature allows a timed burst of air to be automatically released onto each sheet of paper, eliminating paper roll and curl. This feature is especially effective when printing on lighter weight stock such as NCR paper.

Infrared Dryer

Optimum infrared performance is attained with a full range of preset intensities. Recommended settings assist the operator in determining lamp intensity. Preset controls make it easy to adjust for variations in paper stock, weight, press speed, and ink coverage. It also helps prevent evaporation of solvents from the printed sheet.

A sensor detects paper movement and automatically shuts off the lamp within one second if a jam is detected. Cooler operating temperatures extend lamp life, promotes operator safety and minimizes heat transfer to the press.

System Benefits

1. Will dry jobs in a minimum 4-5 times faster than normal oxidation. This may allow the operator to print, cut, fold and ship in the same day.

2. Will drastically reduce the amount of powder spray consumption. Customers can expect up to 80% reduction in overall powder build-up on the blanket, especially on multi-color jobs.

3. Will enable printing on special stocks such as plastic film, coated stock, pre-printed coated boxes, and even metallic stock.
